Improve your English vocabulary with Groupetude's word of the day! Today's word: witty.

I learned this word while reading Jane Austen for the first time, aged 16. I’m sure I had come across it before, but it never really resonated in a way to make it memorable.

I love the word witty because it really describes a kind of different intelligence. Humor is so important in life, we should all celebrate it more!

I can be very witty around my close friends and family, but because I’m shy, I don’t manage it in my outer social and work-related circles.

Can you think of any examples of how to use the word witty? You can also select a sentence you’ve read somewhere.
