Perhaps you’re not a fan of video games, or perhaps you are; either way, we are all looking for different things to do at home this winter. Travel is discouraged, many people around the world are in lockdown, and perhaps you just don’t feel like watching another Netflix series or you’d like to give reading a break.

So… try a video game!

My husband and I recently revisited an old Super Nintendo classic: Donkey Kong Country. This is a game I remember playing when I was 12 years old. Now, I’m not a gamer, and I’m generally a terrible player, unlike my husband, who plays more or less regularly; however, I discovered that there’s one game in which I’m better than him: Donkey Kong! I really cannot hide my pleasure. I don’t think I will ever want to play another game again, against him. But, the games reviewed in this Guardian article are definitely temptation.
